Bring your grip!

Yesterday's workout was fun! We started with some single rep max attempts on press, and then moved to this beauty:

Every minute for 12:00
3 Hang Power Cleans
3 Power Cleans
3 Hang Power Cleans
50% of your SRM cleans is the Rx'd weight

I had the pleasure of getting to watch the 5PM class go through this workout. When Matt L was done he told me that it was so easy that he took a drink of water each round. Well la-di-da Matt. YOU NEEDED TO GO HEAVIER. Any time you finish a workout and you feel like it was a cake walk, write yourself a note in your log book about that. It will be important to note those kinds of things so that the next time you do this workout, you'll know to go heavier. The good news is that Matt's form is improving tremendously!

Let's talk about the press, and single rep max attempts for a minute. Not every day is a PR day. Your PR is your PERSONAL BEST. 100% of everything you got should go into that PR. For some reason, press PR's are few and far between. I consider it a success even if you simply tie your last PR attempt. Setting a 2.2kg PR for press should still be celebrated, because increasing your press numbers is TOUGH.
