Group outing anyone?

March 27th, 2009, by

Is anyone interested in celebrating the 1 year anniversary of CrossFit Fire? Next Saturday, April 4th is the PERFECT evening to celebrate! We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than with large amounts of MEAT. One suggestion is to go to dinner at Fogo de chao downtown. If you like this idea, post to comments, and I'll get us setup with a reservation. Not sure how far in advance you need to make reservations for large groups....but we can always push it to April 11th if they can't accomodate our group.

Mmmm.....meaty.....

  • How ironic - Matt, Pete, Garth and I were just talking about making a run for some Fogo. Always up for a night of 72 kinds of meat. Very interested and if I don't have any other commitments, I am in.

    Garth? Matt? Pete? Bueller?

  • If I do not get stuck in Roanoke, VA the night before I can make it. Have to work again the next morning but I would love to help celebrate.

Might make a guest apperance tomorrow morning, I am working nights, and still sore from Murph, split cleans, weighted pull ups. (mostly Murph though).

  • There is a Texas De Brazil at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. Same idea of a restaurant less of a drive. Less bars around afterwards...

  • Yes! We would love celebrate the 1 year mark with yall!!!! Let me know if it'll be on the 11th... I'll be back in town on the 6th......
Yummy Meat :) How exciting and congrats to One Year of continous SUCCESS........

  • Mark and I would love to go!! However, we can only make it on the 11th. So let us know. We'd love to be a part of it! Congrats to ONE year!!

  • Almost forgot Sparky thank you so much for the challenge coin. That put a big smile on Russell's face.

  • Churascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse)...man that sounds incredible, however I keep wondering how some of these outings/eatings fit in with the nutrition blog. Between Bills 12 egg omelet challenge and endless amounts of meat/potatoes/fried bananas and other tasty treats at Fogo/Texas that I'm sure aren't grass fed/organic or just not plain good for you how this all works. I am curious as I love a good gorgefest like anyone and am always looking for an excuse/celbratory reason to do so. Maybe there was a posting on the blog I missed advising the occasional binge :)

  • Well now I guess that clears things up a bit, after all God himself took a break on the seventh day why not be allowed the occasional cheat days off, right? I'm a firm believer that diets (from South Beach to Slimfast) don't really work in that they set you up for failure once you go "off the diet", disciplined eating as you seemed to describe does because it's a lifestyle where you actually take control and counteract the things you intake i.e. a night at Fogo=18-20 fast

    makes sense :)

  • Now Mark, you didn't think we were without our "cheat" days, did you? Bill and I strive for between 90% and 95% compliance. Not even the most disciplined people in the CrossFit/Paleo world make a 100% commitment to being cheat free. We'll still order a beer with dinner on occasion, and yes, we'll go to Fogo and eat a LOT of meat.

What you won't see behind the scenes is that Bill and I will time up an intermittant fast with our big cheats. If we go to Fogo, chances are it will be followed by about 18-20 hours of not eating depending on how much we consume.

4/11 might work our best for everyone - we definitely want Kelli and Barbie to be able to celebrate with us! Anyone have a conflict with that date??

  • Congrats on the one-year anny!!!

This will be one CrossFit workout that I will be able to challenge Pete on....I will be trying to eat my body weight....

Thanks, Jennie for the help with cleans today....i will be back this week to work some more if you or Bill have time..

  • Mark -

Eating here will be uber simple to stay within our nutritional guidelines. Stay away from the fried carbfests and stick with the steaks. South America is pretty awesome in their cattle laws. Most countries down there restrict feeding grains to cattle. I know for a fact that Brazil and Argentina both require 100% grass-fed meat. Beautiful!

  • That's the best news I've heard all day, Bill! We'll check our calendar. We may be new to the scene, but we always like a good celebration!

  • Definitely in.

Uh, is this meal for time? 'Cause you gotta pace yourself at an all-you-can-eat steakhouse.

This trip is also the answer to the question of "Ma, where's the f%&kin' protein?"

  • Love it Brian! You can't help but laugh at the gym seen with the shrugs:

"Yeah, I f&*kin grunt when I get my swell on at the gym because everyone should see how jacked and tan I am!"

    Classic!
