I can do it faster tomorrow……

September 30th, 2009, by

Really GYG? You guys are nutso. The workout yesterday was "Angie":

100 pull-ups
100 push-ups
100 sit-ups
100 squats

All movements must be completed before moving on to the next movement. In order to make the record board, you MUST complete the movements in that order. Our GYG finished the workout amazingly fast, but then went on to say that "we think we can do the workout faster tomorrow". This is a bad idea, in case you're wondering. If your hands didn't tear yesterday, they'll tear today if you try and rep out 100 pull-ups. I love you guys, but let's try and stay grounded in reality.

Know what's reality? KELLI DOING 20 CONSECUTIVE PULL-UPS. Know what else is reality? KELLI SETTING A PR BY 16:00! Her old time was just over 40:00, and last night she completed this challenging workout in 24:21....exactly one second faster than I finished! Congratulations Kelli!

Another congratulations goes out to Brittany. Last night was her first attempt at going through this workout as prescribed. Somewhere around pull-up number 60, her right hand just erupted. Brittany wouldn't be defeated, and she kept going even though her hand was bloody. Oh, and I saw that you put gloves on for like a minute...don't think that escaped me. :-) Great job pushing through girlfriend!

Even though I'm cheering for Brittany for pushing through, a callous tear is an injury. Let's all practice good hand maintenance to minimize tearing our hands. Tons of chalk + big kipping + not well maintained hands = torn hand.

I hope everyone has been keeping an eye on the Better Body Challenge....the competition is FIERCE! I know we have a lot of people with double digit weight loss at this point, and they're still going strong! I'm hoping to get updated pictures from our participants in the next week so that we can show off everyone's progress at the half way point. You guys are doing amazing! Keep up the good work!

  • I am proud and honored to be a CrossFitter :) That's all I have to say...... Way to go Britt and everyone else that accomplished "Angie"!!! She's one intense, bloody and heart pounding queen.............xoxoxo

  • Great job Brittany and Kelli! That is just so awesome! I can't wait until I can do a workout with pull-ups and push-ups Rx'd! My hat goes off to you guys (and all the others that did this workout in general because this is one hard puppy!)

  • WOW! Did you all read that right and blink twice and say "Wait, what was that? SIXTEEN MINUTES!?! She PR'd by SIXTEEN MINUTES?" Now THAT is truly fantastic! Way to go Kelli - sensational effort!

Brings up another question for the Yundt's. That has to be some kind of Fort record. To have someone better their previous PR by 16:00, has anyone else done such a thing? Anything jog the memory?

    Now THAT is great stuff!

  • Oh the gloves. That lasted a hot second...

Anyhoo - CONGRATS to Kelli! Seriously, 16:00? Who does that?...Stellar job.

    Jelly ;)

  • Atta girl Kelli, aka Jelli. You have come a long way girl, and I am super proud of you.

One thing I have learned from Brittany is that she is head strong. Brittany shows commitment and dedication in everything she does. Upmost respect. No surprise you pushed through, but as always I commend you and your efforts.

  • Tommy Mo has been talking some smack on this one. We'll have to set a show down date! Can't wait ;)
