Our champions de-throned!!

Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls, children of ALL AGES!! CrossFit Fire crowned new Team Saturday champions yesterday! (crowd roaring) Our reigning team champions lost due to forfeit. (crickets chirping....crowd booing) Pete, we really missed you on Saturday. While Tom and Dave were ecstatic to take ownership of the championship belt and this week's bragging rights, it's just not the same if it comes by forfeit. I'll be honest though...Tom and Dave DUMBINATED Saturday's workout. The workout was AMRAP in 30:00 of:

14 deadlift (90/60kg)
14 knees to elbows
14 burpees

Tom and Dave got just over 4 rounds higher than the next closest team. They were like two energizer bunnies...both hurting tremendously but unwilling to quit! You two did phenomenal! You're both so modest and humble about your win too...

I'm kind of sad that I only have one championship belt. All our teams bust their BUTTS every Saturday, and I wish you could all be winners! My first nomination for a new belt is, "Most leaking from the face while working out". Our winners this week would be Tony and Renato. Those boys make a sweaty spray...that just lets me know they're trying hard enough!

  • Jennie is right...Saturday was fun, intense, and a great workout. BUT, Garth and Pete are still the reigning champs. They deserve their title until someone takes it from them.

    Which is why I'm throwing this challenge out to them now: Next Saturday, Tom/Dave vs Garth/Pete. This is war!

  • Really good workout on Saturday, even though it took me about 17 different movements to get out of bed this morning b/c my core was killing me! The best thing I can say about those knees to elbows are that they are effective!
    Great job to Tom and Dave! You guys were flying! And for those who didn't get to witness Tony and Renato's burpee's, you missed something special!

  • Yeah. Brian and I tried to keep up with Dave and Tom. Alas, it didn't happen. I think it was because I was across from Tom when doing deadlifts and the sheer force of his intensity scared me more than the 60 kilos in front of me. Sorry Brian. Hopefully next time Team Billy Joel comes to town there will be running involved.

    And a kudos goes out to Jeff. He might have had a hard time getting out of bed this morning but he was at the fort bright and early for another killer Crossfit Fire extravaganza and with a smile on his face for good measure!

  • I enjoyed the pace of the GYG workout this morning, though not so much the 5 hours of sleep that I got in before that. Must go to bed earlier...'

    Brit, I don't think you owe me an apology. Anyone who is teamed with me during workouts that include burpees has an automatic right to laugh at me.

  • Dear Legs,
    Please stop shaking and forcing me to run into walls at the office....I promise not to make you do 150 wall balls @ 5:30 in the morning for at least another month (or until Wild Bill makes me). Pull it together and kindly get me through the day.

  • Not only did Garth crush it today, but he was in true "Garth-Grunting" form as well. Classic Garth and we all had the pleasure of witnessing it live. For those of you still in bed, you missed the experience.

    Thanks for the encouragement, M-Lo! 2 things to say to that:

    - All credit goes to Wild Bill. His diet. His way. Good results. Tommy likey.
    - Do I look sexier? I am not as sexy as Garth and therefore not male model of the year candidate, but even Mayor Zach said I had a sexy ass during my back squats.

    Glad to have you back brother. We all of the GYG missed you.

    TALL respect goes out to Brandon today who CRUSHED his PR by over 2 mins. He was a m-a-c-h-i-n-e! Nice work m'man!

  • I'm sorry I missed this morning guys, My 4 year old thought it would be a good idea to play with my alarm clock yesterday! I'll be a the fort tonight and then join you guys tomorrow morning again....somehow I'm going to try to play softball inbetween...judging from Matt's comment, I'm not sure that will be such a good idea!

  • Hey guys sounds like I have missed some pretty good workouts. I am hoping to get back to it tomorrow depending on how my knee feels and if it wants to swell up again.
