Team Saturday of EPIC proportions!

August 23rd, 2009, by

I woke up Saturday morning to find Bill standing over me excitedly explaining a workout that he dreamt about. As I rubbed the sand out of my eyes and tried to get my bearings, I thought I heard him say something about tire flips all the way around the building....250 calories on the rower....it was all a little blurry. Once we got to the Fort and he put it up on the board, it became crystal clear; Bill had dreamt up the most AWESOME team workout in the history of the Fort. Since Saturday was Holly's last day, we would like to name this workout "Holly".

In Teams of 5 or 6 you must complete the following:

1 lap around the building tire flips (400lb tire)
250 wall ball shots (20/14lb) - no scaling
250 double unders
250 burpees
250 calories on the rower
Sled drags - each team has 230kg of plates. All plates must be dragged 50 meters to the end of the parking lot, stacked, and then dragged back.

You could complete the movements in any order, and everyone could be working at the same time. Each team only had one wallball target, two jump ropes, and one rower.

As the Saturday group filtered in, it was fun to watch the looks of terror that spread across their faces as they read the whiteboard. "Wait....around the BUILDING?" "250 burpees?!" tee hee. Bill divided everyone into 2 teams of 6, and one team of 5. Each team split up and started talking strategy. Everyone did absolutely amazing! This workout was tough! We had amazing weather, so it was hard to complain.

Here are your team Saturday champs!

ANNOUNCEMENT: I found a men's wedding band in the bathroom. Please see Bill or Jennie to claim this amazing piece of jewelry.

  • WOW I'm sorry I missed this one. Well maybe not but I am sorry I missed Holl's going away party.

I understand I missed Holly's first!! Irish car bomb that is. Congrats it is a day that you will never forget!!!

    Good Luck at school

  • Great Workout, this one was epic for sure, mad props to Tom (as he was really the only teammate I saw for most of this one) for coming up with the idea of trading off half way through the tire pull (I hope that's not a proprietary trade secret) man that kept me fresh. And for the rest of our team you guys crushed the DU's, burpees, Wball, and the rest.

    Good Times

  • An insanely huge team WOD, and one that was absolutely relentless. How can you not love it so, right?

Mark & Team - right back atcha m'man. You were HUGE during our portion of the WOD. The entire team was simply awesome. Huge effort overall. Great work!

Mad Props goes out to Holly and Audra. Not sure if you all saw it, but their last tire drag, Holly pulled 35K about 30 feet and Audra brought it home the last 30 feet. Awesome to watch!

    Good times at the Fort!

  • I'm clearly the foreman on the job in that picture. "Looks good, looks good. Keep it up." *Sips a frosty beverage*

  • Good times for sure! My ass and legs were killing me on Sunday :)

That gold/silver ring is mine. Thanks Jennie! I imagine it fell out of my bag.

ps - Pete, you should have been there! We needed you on those sled drags - brutal.

  • Awesome job, Team! Great job, everyone. I have got to say that this has been my favorite, to date. Divide and conquer, divide and conquer. Mark, Tom you guys can flip a tire like nothing else! Jennie, your double-unders are on the money! Jamie, all I can say is "Wow". You rocked those sled-pulls, wall-balls and rowing! Beth... All I have to say is that I've still got two more Saturday wins to catch-up to you. I will. Oh, yes. I will.
