Being an athlete while growing up, I loved to compete. As I got older the only game I could find to compete in was golf. As my golf scores went down my weight went up. As the weight went up my energy went down along with my self confidence. A friend told me about CrossFit Fire and I kind of brushed it aside. Then another friend told me about it and talked me into giving it a shot. I'm so happy I listened! Since I started at Cross Fit Fire, My weight is down, my energy is up, I'm a much happier person and I've never been stronger! Joining CrossFit Fire is one of the best things I have ever done! Thank you for helping dig me out of my rut........thank you.

"This is not a diet, its a lifestyle," this is what I kept saying to myself everyday while doing the Better Body Challange.  My name is Dani and I started Crossfit in Oct 2009, but really started going on a reg basic in Jan 2010.  When I stated at the Fort I was 163lbs, I was scared, yet excited at the same time. I have worked out at different gyms before this but they just didnt do anything for me.  The fort is a place where you can go to workout and have a good time while you're doing it; its actually something that I look foward to doing after work everyday.

In Feb when we started the Better Body Challenge, I was so embarassed to take my shirt off in front of people to take my pictures, I was even embarassed to wear short shorts. When it was time for the "after" pictures I was so excited to take off my shirt so everyone could see the results. During the first couple weeks of eating Bill's version of Paleo and completely cutting out all grains and carbs, I had lost over 10lbs.   I was so excited that I told myself that this is it, this is going to be the time that I finally lose the weight and keep it off.  I ate paleo for 90 days, did I cheat? Of couse I did.  Did I ever want to quit? NO!! After the first month of eating foods that I never thought I would ever eat and staying away from junk food, I for the first time felt good about the way I was starting to look, I had so much energy everyday, I was happy all the time, my cranky crabbiness went away, and I was exctied to do it all over the next day.  My total weight loss was 28lbs. Thats more then some people can lose in an entire year.  I went from wearing a size 12 jean to fitting into my size 6 favorite jeans form H.S. I even just bought my bridal shower dress in a size 4. Just knowing that I could fit into a size 4 means this was all worth it.

After the BBC was over I re-measured from the first measurment in feb and went from a chest size 37" to a 34 1/4", a waste size 36 1/2 to a 30 1/8, hip size 40 to 36 1/2 and a butt size 42 3/4 to a 39 1/2.  If you add up all the inches that I lost it would be A LOT.  I am so proud of myself and really I can say I owe it all to Bill and Jennie my awesome trainers who sat after class with us to talk about different foods or answer questions, and to all the other BBC participants for making this such a fun experience. Usually people dont think that it's fun to workout, but when we workout at the Fort we have a blast, we laugh, we joke, and we make the best of it.  I love the Fort and wouldn't give it up for the world.  It has become my new family:)

I think the pictures speak for themselves, and I cannot believe the progress in only three months (and only one hour a day, 5 days a week). My colleagues at work actually commented that my pictures looked like an ad from a magazine or infomercial. I couldn’t have done it without Bill, Jennie, and Zach!!! I would also like to thank all the CrossForters who constantly push and cheer me on each and every day! You won’t ever see this kind of support at a Globo Gym!

To conclude, let me go on the record as saying that CrossFit is the future of working out and becoming fit in America and around the world! People just don’t know it yet or have the courage to try it! My brother, a former college athlete (and I love him to death), has yet to even set foot in CFF because I know he is afraid of the metabolic conditioning. Some day, I hope he can experience the excitement, competition, and camaraderie that goes on at the Fort each day, because it is something that has really changed my life for the better!

I consider CrossFit a sport, but the unique thing is; it has not become commercialized. There are no fancy marketing schemes, just results.

And these results are what will keep me coming back forever!

Before I found CrossFit, I was never into working out. The idea of lifting weights was totally foreign to me, I thought “only BOYS do that!” I couldn’t have been more wrong!

In only 11 months I went from a size 12, to a size 4. I’m stronger, faster, and more fit than I have been in my whole life. I’m proud to say that CrossFit has made me more fit at 30 than I was at 18!

I’m turning 40 this year and thanks to Bill and Jennie, I’m in the best shape of my life. Bill’s nutritional advice was a revelation that has completely changed my diet, lifestyle and looks. I’m leaner than ever with little effort and feel better. I’m rarely sick anymore. I also spend a lot more time in the kitchen putting together all sorts of inventive and delicious meals. I’ve made major improvements in strength, endurance and speed but continue to strive for more and with the programming at the Fort, I’m sure I’ll continue to push past my goals to attain levels of fitness that would have been unimaginable before coming to Crossfit Fire. Thanks Bill and Jennie for all you do!

I joined CrossFit Fire in October of 2009. I really had no idea what I was signing up for…I’m not gonna lie, I was scared/nervous! I had never been an athletic person in my life (cheerleader for life yo!) and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do anything at CrossFit Fire. The first day I walked in...I thought to myself for a split second… “no one saw me walk in yet- so I could run out of here” Then Jennie came around the corner and welcomed me in.

In 20 minutes, a few times a week I was watching myself transform. In January I realized that I had lost about 12 pounds. But the difference was my whole body was changing and I was loving what I was doing!! I have really good friends I work out with, and have also made new friends at the Fort. The people and the challenge of CrossFit Fire are what keep me coming back. I feel like I cant wait to get there and work out with my group!

In February a Better Body Challenge was starting and I knew this would be the last step I was looking for to feel better about myself. I thought to myself, “I have to do this challenge- this is it I know it. After three weeks following Bill's nutritional advice I dropped 13 pounds!! AFTER ONLY THREE WEEKS!!! This is amazing stuff!!! At the end of 90 days I took an after picture to truly see my results. What did I see…a hot crossfitting paleo chick in my after picture!! I finally feel like I won my personal battle!! I am now 125 pounds and wearing size 3 dresses!! I have never felt better about myself! I completely owe it to CrossFit Fire and my new Paleo eating lifestyle. Thanks to Bill for the nutrional advice (the main reason I look so much better)- and thanks for Jennie for helping me stick it out and making me feel beautiful and strong NO matter what I was doing!!!

As you know, I was doing Crossfit workouts at our other gym with Garth and Tom for 8 months before the stars aligned and Tom found Crossfit Fire for us. The instruction and competitiveness that we receive in our workouts is second to none, which elevated our workouts to a level we’d never experienced before.

Then came the diet advice, which is what REALLY made the difference. It started with the “two week experiment of Jennie”. When I saw how you looked, I wanted to do EXACTLY what you were doing with your diet. Within a week of that, Bill setup the nutrition seminar. He didn’t just say “this is WHAT you should eat”, but rather explained in detail WHY we should eat the way he was describing. After 60 days of following Bill’s nutrition advice, I lost a lot of my bodyfat, felt great, and am now setting PRs and besting my times during the Metcon workouts (not to mention beating my fellow Crossfitters who I never used to beat before). AND I’ve gained an increased confidence that I can tackle anything life throws at me.

What you and Bill have done for me these last few months in nothing short of amazing – my life has changed for the better because of you!
