For those of you who have been following the saga of my rest week, I want to thank you for all your love and encouragement. The week of rest has left me feeling...well....um...rested, and rejuvenated. My plan going forward is to decide on a schedule and stick with it NO MATTER WHAT. It doesn't matter if Stacy beats my old Nancy PR by 5:00! It won't upset me if Stephanie knocks my wimpy deadlift PR right off the record board! I will choose rest days and stick with them!
The workout yesterday was great! We started with one of my favorite lifts - the clean! We did 3-3-3 of power cleans before moving on to the metcon. I had to have a talk with Brittany's elbows yesterday. Brit is an athletic lady, but her elbows are LAZY and SLOW. She jumps, shrugs, gets this big high pull, but those sluggish elbows didn't make it around the bar in time. The only way to catch your clean is with your elbows forward of the bar. Resting it momentarily on your chest and then slowly getting your elbows around just won't cut the mustard. Be aggressive. Be fast. Dang it elbows! Be like the rest of Brittany!
The metcon was:
3:00 Barrier Hop Burpees
1:30 Rest
2:00 Barrier Hop Burpees
1:30 Rest
1:00 Barrier Hop Burpees
The objective was to get as many burpees as possible each round. The barrier hop burpees require that you do your burpee, but instead of jumping up, you jump laterally over a parallette. FUN STUFF! When I arrived at the Fort, Audra was in the middle of this workout, and she killed me with her eyes. She did NOT look happy to be hopping over that parallette! But Audra, you looked so graceful!

Uhhhh Jennie, you missed one important point. Where's the introduction of the new member to the fort, Jake? Anybody that jumps that high over a parallett surely deserves an introduction to all of us. Agree?
You're a witty writer. I would imagine a:
"CrossForters! Check out THIS guy's sick hops! I'd like to introduce to you a new member of the fort that has METCON endurance that equals the speed of a cheetah. His name is Jake."
I mean, seriously. He's 2 feet above the parallette. Huge effort!
Jake - Welcome! We hope to see you join "The Gang" very soon.
I now turn the blog over to Mrs. Yundt. Your honor, your honor.
